We ask that families send a representative to the library to collect materials for everyone. We are limiting the number of people in the building.
Curbside pickup will continue for patrons who prefer not to enter the building.
Children in the Library
While children are welcome to come collect materials in the library, they are not encouraged to stay just yet. All toys and activities in the children’s room have been removed for the foreseeable future. Loitering is strongly discouraged and all after-school activities have been suspended.
A new drop box is located by the south-side handicapped accessible entrance. This drop box will provide touchless returns for patrons. Our usual drop box will remain closed. Since all library materials will be isolated for 24 hours to ensure safe handling by our librarians, items will not show as immediately returned on patron accounts online. As always, no late charges will be assessed for items checked in after their due date.
Materials can be picked up from the Library via a safe, touchless option we’re calling curbside pickup. Patrons can request items by phone, email, or thru the online catalog.
Three ways to request an item
Items ready for pickup will be placed into a paper bag with the patron’s name and checkout date. Patrons will be notified by their selected contact method when pickups are ready. Please collect your items within 7 days. Bags will be handed to patrons thru the window on the Library porch. We ask that all patrons review their privacy settings at this time and provide permissions for anyone you may be sending to collect your materials. If you aren’t sure what your selected contact method is, or how to add permissions for a member of your family, phone or email the library.
If you have a broad request, don’t be afraid to let us know! We are happy to pull an assortment of books based on your guidance of genres you like, authors you have enjoyed, or details you prefer to steer clear of.
Print, Copy & Fax Services
Print, copy & fax services are available to patrons upon request. If you have an item to print, you can email it to [email protected] with any relevant details.
Fees are as follows:
Black and White — 20¢ each | over 10 pages 15¢ each | over 50 pages 10¢ each (5¢ discount if you bring your own paper)
Color — 35¢ each | over 10 pages 25¢ each | over 50 pages 20¢ each (5¢ discount if you bring your own paper)
Fax — $1.00 per page
Curbside Pickup & Browsing Hours
Please know the safety for our staff and patrons is of the utmost importance to us. In order to comply with state guidelines for businesses, everyone entering the Library is required to wear a mask. All library materials that are returned from patrons are isolated for at least 24 hours before they are handled by staff. We have hand sanitizer readily available at all work stations and, of course, are encouraging frequent hand washing. We are frequently cleaning ‘high touch’ surfaces like door handles, phones, and light switches and continuing to routinely clean and sanitize our library. We appreciate all of the concern and support our patrons have given to library staff during this difficult time.
Digital Resources and Online Programming
During the COVID-19 crisis, the Interlaken Public Library has been working diligently to provide online programs and digital resources to our patrons. Please continue to take advantage of these opportunities as we move forward with our phased reopening. Look for online programs on the library’s Facebook page. Checkout eBooks and eAudio titles on Libby. The library has a wide range of services you can access from home. If you do not have a library card, you can sign up for one to access digital services.
