All Summer Long – Eager Reader Program
The Eager Reader Program provides prizes for individuals who enroll in summer reading and check items out of the library between June 1, 2022 and August 31, 2022. The individual who is registered in summer reading and has checked out the most items in a week wins a gift certificate to Trimmers Ice Cream.
Ted’s Troupe Storytime
Ages 0 – 5 years
Early literacy support for birth thru age 5 children and their caregivers. Children enjoy a story with Mrs. Weatherby, a snack, an activity and some social time with peers. This program takes place outdoors in the park every Monday June 6, 2022 thru August 29, 2022 at 10am. Participants receive a complimentary tote and information packet to help with literacy at home, as well as a keepsake “My First Library Card” for your little one.
Children learn thru play, and sometime’s that play happens on a flexible schedule. Activities can be picked up on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month during library open hours, with activities changing all summer long. Activities available on a first come, first serve basis. Take-and-Make Instructional Videos
Story Art Program
Join us in the park once per month in June 29, July 27, and August 31st from 2-3pm for a fun children’s painting technique class in the park. All supplies provided, themes selected from popular children’s books. Enrollment is required due to limited supplies – phone the library at (607) 532-4341 to enroll.
Dungeons & Dragons
A ten-week series combining live role playing and character development following the Dungeons and Dragons Playbook. This is an all-virtual program, so join in from the comfort of home. Google Classroom meetups start June 30, 2022 from 1:00pm to approximately 4:00pm, meeting weekly every Thursday until September 1. Enrollment is required – phone the library at (607) 532-4341 to enroll.
Family Movie on the Lawn
A family-friendly movie shown on the big screen in the park in front of the library. Bring a blanket & some snacks and enjoy a free movie night with friends and neighbors.
Come to the library and check out any movie and grab some free popcorn and candy, every Thursday all summer long!
Come to the library June 30, 5-6pm to learn about the long history of henna body art, while trying some yourself! This program is FREE, designed for teens, and enrollment is not required.
Norma Luther Painting Classes
Join renowned artist Norma Luther for two painting classes in the library on July 21 and (August date TBD) for one watercolor and one acrylic painting technique class. Attendees will have all supplies provided. Limited spaces available – enroll for each class individually – phone the library at (607) 532-4341 to enroll.
