Centennial Celebration

Join us as we celebrate 100 years in the Hinman Memorial Library Building!

Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 7 to 10pm the Ageless Jazz Band will provide live music for Great Gatsby themed revelry at the Interlaken Fireman’s Field at the corners of Mechanic and Knight Street in Interlaken, New York. Food and drink is available for purchase on site from Silo Food Truck, Airy Acres Vineyard, and the Finger Lakes Cider House.

This event is open to the public, free to enjoy, and suitable for all ages. Great Gatsby attire is encouraged!

Our library began in 1901 when five local residents formed a board of trustees, applied for a charter, and secured a closet in the offices of a local dentist that would serve as the first library location. In 1925 Louis Hinman, grandson of prominent residents Lockwood and Eliza Hinman, donated the Hinman home to the Village of Interlaken on the condition that it be used as a free public library, providing us the historic building we have today.
